Foster Families

Grow On Purpose foster’s the family by bridging the gap between the youth, foster parents, biological parents and foster care agencies to create a positive, nurturing, thriving environment for the child to successfully transition into adulthood.

We offer guidance and provide resources that help the youth succeed and give their foster parents and biological parents access to support that will help them create a positive environment for the child to thrive.

Motivation

According to CFSA FACES Management Report CMT252MM as of September 14, 2015 there were a total of 2949 children/youth served in out of home placement or monitored at home.  Foster Care Agency personnel and Social Worker’s are overworked and don’t have time to sit with each child to help guide and give them the tools and resources they need to transition successfully into adulthood.  This includes promoting a healthy living environment and offering resources for the Foster Parents, quickly reconnecting the children with their biological parents where possible and assisting children who are left behind and ultimately age out of the system.

Vision

To build a network of support for foster care youth, biological parents and foster care parents that empower foster care youth to transition into successful independent adults.

Outcomes

GOP’s goal is to:

Provide resources and supports that enable the foster care parents and biological parents to properly care for the youth.  These include:

  • Life coaching to identify and remove limiting beliefs and create new ones to help the youth and the parents advance forward
  • Equip the youth with a solid action plan on how to successfully transition into their chosen field of study or career path
  • Conduct follow ups and accountability sessions with the youth and their families
  • Reunite the youth with their biological parents as quickly as possible where applicable
  • Provide the biological parents with resources to get their child back and maintain the household
  • Provide the foster parents with resources to support the youth
  • Counsel the youth, the foster parent and the biological parent to help work out any issues that may create a negative environment for the child
